Bishop emeritus Juozas Matulaitis dies

Bishop emeritus Juozas Matulaitis of the Diocese of Kaišiadorys died on Sunday, LRT reported, citing a Facebook post by district mayor Šarūnas Čėsna.

Čėsna remembered Matulaitis for his sincerity, simplicity and warmth, saying he listened, understood and offered kind words and attention to those he met. He expressed condolences to Matulaitis’ relatives, clergy and the diocesan community, and thanked him for his life, service and the light he shared with others.
