Latvia’s State Police will stage a crisis-response exercise overnight from Wednesday to Thursday at Riga Central Railway Station, LSM reported.

The exercise, organised with state railway company Latvijas dzelzceļš and passenger operator Pasažieru vilciens, which operates under the Vivi brand, will simulate a situation resembling a real threat. Authorities will test information-sharing, the division of responsibilities and coordination between the services.

Emergency service vehicles may be more visible in central Riga and near railway infrastructure during the exercise. No road or train traffic restrictions are planned, and passenger services are not expected to be affected.

The State Police asked residents to understand the overnight exercise and not be alarmed by the presence of emergency services. It said such drills help improve preparedness and public safety.
