An exhibition of works by graphic artist Gita Teearu, who died last year, opened at the Keila Cultural Centre on November 3, ERR reports. Titled The Earth Is Full of Flowers Again, it is on display until November 30.
The exhibition spans two floors and features a selection of Teearu’s large-format colour etchings, a technique that became one of her most distinctive forms of expression. The works are from a private collection.
The exhibition takes its name from one of the works on display. According to its curators, the piece reveals a less familiar side of Teearu’s work and offers a way to look anew at her quieter nature scenes.
Teearu studied at ERKI from 1956 to 1962 and joined the Estonian Artists’ Association in 1973. She began exhibiting in 1961 and held solo exhibitions in Finland, Germany, Australia, America and Sweden.
