ERR programme to examine Dnipro strike and Putin call
ERR’s “Ukraine Studio” will discuss a deadly attack on a railway station in Dnipro and an unexpected phone call with Russian leader Vladimir Putin when it airs at 8 p.m. on Sunday.
At least 14 civilians were killed after Russian forces targeted the station with jet-powered drones while people were waiting for a passenger train. Retired Brigadier General Alar Laneman will analyse the military developments and the Kremlin’s use of air attacks, which the programme says is intended to break Ukraine as Russia has made no significant gains on the front line.
Foreign and defence policy expert Kaimo Kuusk will discuss the unexpected call between Putin, Finland’s president and Norway’s prime minister. He will consider whether it could help restart trilateral peace talks and what role Europe might play. The call has prompted conflicting reactions.
Reimo Sildvee hosts the programme, edited by Marko Tooming.
