Police have identified three men suspected of deliberately leaving electric scooters on a road near Keila, ERR reported. The scooters’ owner, Hoog Mobility, has temporarily removed them from the area.

Police said they received a report in late September about an electric scooter lying on Paldiski road near the Mudaaugu bus stop. Over the following month, they received 10 reports of scooters left on the road. In one incident, a car struck a scooter, but no one was injured.

Police identified the men as aged 17, 18 and 24. Investigators said the absence of surveillance cameras and direct eyewitnesses made the case harder to solve. Police have opened a misdemeanour investigation to establish the full circumstances.

The speed limit on the stretch is 70 km/h. Police said hitting a scooter in the dark at that speed could have had serious consequences.

Hoog Mobility said the scooters had been locked in a designated parking area before someone moved them onto the road. The company said several scooters were damaged, but did not disclose the extent of the damage. As a precaution, it temporarily removed its parking areas from the region and is cooperating with police.
