Three newcomers aim to refresh Eesti Laul

Panørama, Vemka and Hans Markus will compete in Eesti Laul 2027, hoping to bring a fresh sound to the Estonian music contest, ERR reports. The three musicians, from different parts of Estonia, met at a songwriting camp.

“It was about two years ago. I was tinkling away on the piano, playing some progression, and a melody came to me. Right after that, our next session started, and we were with Vemka. That’s basically where it began,” Hans Markus said.

Their entry, “Reflection”, is about finding strength and hope within yourself during difficult times. “A person is ultimately the one who can get themselves through those moments and periods,” Panørama said.

Panørama described the song as drum and bass, a popular style in Estonia, arranged with a pop-song feel. The group believes it will sound different from much of what has been heard at Eesti Laul.

“We’re genuine people making something genuine. We’ll see what happens,” Hans Markus said. The musicians also promise to bring plenty of lasers, lighting effects and mirrors to the stage.
