Rain is expected to become more widespread in Lithuania later this week, with light showers or drizzle forecast in many areas on Friday, LRT reports.

Wednesday morning was calm, though fog reduced visibility in some places. Temperatures ranged from 0 to 5 degrees Celsius, and frost occurred overnight in some areas, Ineta Daunoravičiūtė, a forecaster with the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service, told LRT Radio.

A high-pressure area east of Lithuania will continue to influence Wednesday’s weather. Cloud cover will gradually increase, first in the eastern districts, while western Lithuania will see sunshine for longer. Denser clouds will later reach the country’s western edge, but no rain is expected. Winds will be moderate, and daytime temperatures will reach 8 to 13 degrees.

Thursday will be cloudy in many places, with a chance of light rain in some areas both overnight and during the day. Rain is most likely in western Lithuania, while other parts of the country should stay drier. Winds will be light. Temperatures will range from 3 to 8 degrees overnight and reach 9 to 14 degrees during the day.

Current forecasts suggest the long weekend will be calm but cloudy, with brief, light rain possible in some places. Winds are expected to remain moderate.
