Two brothers, aged 17 and 19, have been charged with possessing drugs and allegedly supplying them to minors in Klaipėda district, LRT reported Tuesday.
A prosecutor has sent the case to Klaipėda Regional Court. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, police went to a garage at a residential property in January after receiving information that drugs might be in use there.
Officers noticed a distinctive smell they suspected came from a plant-based drug. Inside, they found seven young people, three of them minors, and 79 grams of cannabis.
Investigators suspect the cannabis belonged to the brothers, who lived at the address, and that they may have distributed drugs to others, including minors.
Possession of drugs with intent to distribute is punishable by up to eight years in prison. Distributing drugs to minors carries a prison sentence of three to 12 years.
