Jay-Z will perform at halftime of the 61st Super Bowl on February 14, 2027, with his company Roc Nation producing the show for the eighth consecutive year, ERR reports.
The rapper, producer and businessman said performing on the Super Bowl stage would mark a milestone after 30 years in music. “From the album ‘Reasonable Doubt’ to standing on the Super Bowl halftime show stage: it has been quite a journey,” he said.
Jay-Z, 56, is responsible for selecting the artists who perform during the halftime show. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the league had hoped Jay-Z would eventually take the stage himself when it began working with Roc Nation on the production.
Jay-Z has won 25 Grammy Awards and released 13 studio albums. His best-known songs include “Holy Grail,” “Empire State of Mind” and “99 Problems.” His latest studio album, “4:44,” came out in 2017.
After stepping away from music and live performances for several years, Jay-Z returned to the stage this year for shows marking the 25th anniversary of “The Blueprint” and the 30th anniversary of “Reasonable Doubt.” He also performed in Paris and London.
An eight-part HBO documentary series, “Jay Z in 8,” was released in September. In it, Jay-Z looks back on his career with producer Rick Rubin and discusses key songs.
The Super Bowl will be held at SoFi Stadium near Los Angeles. The game will also be shown on Disney+ for the first time.
