Man detained over drugs resists Kaunas police officer

A man detained on suspicion of possessing drugs resisted a police officer in Kaunas on Sunday, injuring the officer, the Police Department said on Monday, according to LRT.

The incident happened around midday in an apartment on Taikos Street. The 1985-born man actively tried to avoid being detained and resisted an officer from Kaunas County Police, born in 1998.

The officer received medical care and is being treated as an outpatient. The suspect was taken into custody, and a pre-trial investigation was opened into unlawful possession of narcotic substances and resisting a public servant.
