Rain to ease across Lithuania as frost threatens overnight
Rain will give way to clearer skies across Lithuania, with frost expected at ground level in many places overnight, the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service’s forecaster Paulius Starkus told LRT Radio, LRT reported.
On Monday, a cold front will bring cloudy skies and rain to much of the country, with heavier showers in eastern Lithuania, mainly during the first half of the day. Western areas will see more breaks in the clouds, especially later in the day, while central Lithuania is expected to stay mostly dry. Highs will range from 8 to 11 degrees Celsius in most places and reach 12 to 13 degrees in the southwest.
Higher pressure will build over the region on Tuesday. Clouds will begin to clear overnight and rain will move away from most of the country, though brief, light showers remain possible in western areas. Overnight temperatures will fall to 1 to 6 degrees, while the west will remain milder at 8 to 9 degrees. Frost is possible at ground level in many areas.
Tuesday will bring little chance of rain and light winds, with daytime temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees. No significant change is expected on Wednesday or Thursday: temperatures will remain similar, with occasional overnight frost. Wednesday is expected to be dry, while cloud cover will increase on Thursday and brief, light rain may fall in many districts.
