ERR’s Ukraine Studio to examine front and peace talks

Sunday 25th October 2026 on 16:15 in Estonia

peace talks, Russia, Ukraine

ERR’s Ukraine Studio will discuss the latest developments on the front in Ukraine and prospects for restarting peace talks when it airs on Sunday at 8 p.m.

Lieutenant Colonel Mattias Puuseppp will review the battlefield situation. The article says Ukraine’s Operation Vivaldi in the northern part of the Donbas fortress belt has ended, freeing 277 square kilometres of territory. Russian losses have exceeded 2,250 men a day, it says. Russia is seeking to make up for its lack of success at the front by bombing Ukrainian cities and making them uninhabitable.

Kristi Raik, director of the International Centre for Defence and Security, will discuss proposals delivered by US President Donald Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, to Putin at a meeting in St Petersburg. Witkoff described Putin as a humanist and delivered new Ukrainian and Western proposals to revive peace negotiations. Raik will explain what is new in the proposals, how the Kremlin has responded and whether trilateral talks will resume.

The programme will be hosted by Reimo Sildvee.
