Margiiela, Ouu and Frankie Animal release new tracks

Friday 23rd October 2026 on 16:01 in Estonia

Estonian music, new releases, pop music

Margiiela, Ouu and Frankie Animal are among the artists featured in this week’s new releases, alongside Birgit Sarrap, Elina Born and Ollie. ERR’s Kaspar Viilup and Neit-Eerik Nestor review the latest music from Estonia and abroad.

Those hoping to hear Ollie’s new Eesti Laul entry will have to wait: this week’s release is his debut album.

Margiiela, Kodust kaugel

Margiiela’s new album is due on October 26, and “Kodust kaugel” is the final single before its release. The track is a restrained ballad, with bass rumbling in the background rather than the grand piano-and-vocals approach often associated with the style. The reviewers describe it as further evidence of Margiiela’s place among Estonia’s leading pop artists.

Ipe, En Passant

Ivo Leesaar, a singer and producer with roots in Pärnu and guitarist for the band Ixtlan, has released his second solo single of the year. “En Passant” is a lightly rough-edged pop-rock track that evokes the start of the previous decade, though the reviewers are unsure whether it takes listeners back to the present.

Tiit and Teet, Erisoovid

The elusive duo behind “Tallinnast,” the song that launched Kurvad Uudised Records, have returned after a three-year break. “Erisoovid” pairs a dance beat with lyrics about drinking. Its video features people who resemble a well-known rapper and comedian trying to climb stairs at night.

Ouu, Hõõguv planeet

Back from a tour of Japan, Ouu have released a seven-inch vinyl single pressed there. Its A-side, “Hõõguv planeet,” follows the direction of “Teine tera,” with fewer synths and more guitars. The reviewers wonder whether they can hear an influence from city pop, but say the track works either way.

Frankie Animal, Hearts

“Hearts” shifts the band’s familiar formula and builds tension with sharp, metallic sounds, the reviewers write. Frankie Animal’s third full-length album is due on November 11.

Metro_0 and Karjakoer, Hobusega maalt

Metro_0, also known as Metro, first reached a wider audience on Lil Till’s album “Oxyga” and has since drawn attention with solo tracks. After a concert in Tallinn in early autumn, rapper Beebilõust even asked about the young performer on Facebook, impressed by his performance.

Birgit Sarrap, Vaikides

Birgit Sarrap has released her first solo song in eight years. The pop-rock single “Vaikides” was made with Daniel Levi Viinalass, Vallo Kikas, Fred Krieger, Teven Aavik, Eric Kammiste and Stig Rästa. Sarrap said making the song had renewed her interest in creating music, and she also helped write its lyrics.

Clicherik, Triibupasta and Elina Born, Seksikas

“Seksikas” is another party-pop collaboration from Kurvad Uudised, combining Clicherik, Triibupasta and Elina Born. The track has a playful, 1980s-inspired sunset sound, but the reviewers say the joke gets in the way of the music and that Triibupasta feels unnecessarily added to the mix.

Ollie, Voices

Ollie’s release this week is his debut album, rather than the new Eesti Laul competition song some listeners may have expected.
