Watch Mati Põldre’s Spring in the Heart on Jupiter

ERR’s Culture Portal recommends Mati Põldre’s 1984 television film Spring in the Heart in honour of the filmmaker’s 90th birth anniversary. The music-filled film follows a children’s choir at summer camp as its members prepare for an amateur performance review.

The campers perform Spring, and some of the boys and girls recall characters from the Paunvere school stories. The film features lead actor Toomas Uibo’s singing voice, the Ellerhein children’s choir and dancers from Palestra.

Hans Luik wrote the screenplay, with music by Ülo Vinter and Tõnis Kõrvits. The cast includes Tarvo Krall, Feliks Kark, Leelo Keevallik and Rein Malmsten. Spring in the Heart is available on Jupiter.
