Traffic reaches Eesti Laul final for eighth time

Traffic vocalist Silver Laas said news that the band had reached the Eesti Laul song contest final made his voice tremble, ERR’s Ringvaade reported.

Laas said he had assumed Traffic had not qualified because nobody had told him otherwise. “What wonderful news!” he exclaimed when he heard the band’s song had made the final.

Traffic will compete in the final for the eighth time. Laas joked that he did not know whether to feel proud or embarrassed.

He described the keyword for the band’s song, “Laava,” as “scorching hot.” Laas said he was going to the Vanemuine café to calm down before a performance of “Kinky Boots.”

The music for “Laava” was written by Stig Rästa, Victor Crone and Linnea Deb, and the lyrics by Fred Krieger.
