Lithuania’s Foreign Ministry has denied reports that it agreed to simplify visa procedures for Pakistani citizens, LRT reported, saying no changes had been discussed or approved.

The claim, which spread on social media and appeared on a Pakistani news portal, said Lithuania would ease visa processing for Pakistani students and professionals. It cited Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry as its source.

The claim was based on an announcement about a meeting between Pakistani diplomat Ayesha Ali, the ambassador and secretary for European affairs, and Lithuania’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vidmantas Verbickas. But the meeting agendas published by both ministries show that easing visa procedures was not discussed.

Lithuania’s Foreign Ministry said visa requirements for Pakistani citizens remain unchanged and described the circulating claim as an attempt to manipulate the issue.
