Lithuania and Poland’s defence ministries have formed a joint group to investigate a drone that exploded in Pasvalys district, President Gitanas Nausėda said, LRT reported.

Speaking to LRT on Tuesday during a visit to Poland, Nausėda said he did not want to pre-empt the inquiry’s findings. He said officials would discuss what happened after the investigation’s conclusions were made public.

The drone entered Lithuania from Poland on Sunday, according to BNS. It crashed and exploded in Pasvalys district, and debris damaged a civilian car.

Lithuanian officials said the drone was Ukrainian and carried explosives. Ukraine apologised for the incident, saying the drone may have been redirected by Russian electronic warfare measures.
