Health adviser makes quick, affordable pizza from dumplings
Health adviser Liis Velsker made a quick and affordable pizza using dumplings as the base on the Terevisioon programme, ERR reported. She said healthy food does not have to be expensive or difficult to prepare, and that variety is important.
Velsker said the base is made by thawing dumplings, pressing them into a circle and baking them in an oven or air fryer. She moved the dumplings from the freezer to the refrigerator the night before so they would be ready to use in the morning. She chose dumplings made with barley flour.
She topped the baked base with tomato paste, pickles, sliced red onion, corn and cheese, then cooked the pizza in an air fryer to save time. The toppings can be adapted to suit the family, she said.
Velsker said she likes to make recipes from whatever is in the refrigerator. She added that chicken dumplings provide protein, fat and carbohydrates, and said cheese can be used because chicken contains little fat.
