Lithuania to warm to 17 degrees before Thursday rain
Lithuania will warm to as high as 17 degrees Celsius by midweek, before rain reaches much of the country on Thursday, LRT reports, citing forecaster Edita Gečaitė of the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service.
The coming night will be mostly dry, with temperatures of 1 to 6 degrees. Frost is possible, with temperatures near the ground in northwestern districts falling to between zero and 5 degrees below zero.
Tuesday will be dry, with sunny spells and temperatures of 11 to 16 degrees. On Wednesday, cloud cover will increase as a low pressure system approaches from the west, but significant rain is not expected. Temperatures will again reach 11 to 16 degrees. Easterly and southeasterly winds will gust at 9 to 14 metres per second during the day.
Rain is forecast across many districts on Thursday, particularly in the southwest. Southeasterly winds will strengthen, with gusts reaching 15 metres per second in some places. Temperatures will range from 7 to 12 degrees overnight and 12 to 17 degrees during the day.
Rain will move across most of Lithuania on Friday night, then become less widespread. Friday daytime showers are expected only in some places, with temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees.
