Lithuanian Defence Minister Robertas Kaunas said a drone that entered Lithuania and crashed in Pasvalys district was a consequence of Ukraine’s attack on St Petersburg, LRT reported.

Kaunas said Russian electronic warfare measures had caused some drones to veer into Lithuanian territory. Initial information indicated the drone was a Ukrainian FPV-1 model, he said, adding that Ukrainians had apologised for the incident.

Authorities are still searching for the drone’s computer equipment, Kaunas said.

The minister said the drone incident should not be linked to an attempted arson attack on premises in Vilnius used by the US company SpaceX. He described the drone as part of the operation targeting St Petersburg, while the attempt to destroy Starlink infrastructure was a separate matter, citing similar incidents in Poland and Romania.
