Military assessment delayed Lithuania’s air danger alerts

Notifications warning residents of an air threat were slightly delayed because the military was assessing the situation, the National Crisis Management Centre (NKVC) said, according to LRT.

A red air alert was issued early Sunday in Panevėžys and Šiauliai counties over a possible drone. Residents received mobile phone messages telling them to go to shelters.

The drone entered Lithuania and crashed in Pasvalys district on Sunday morning, NKVC head said. It damaged a moving car, but the person inside was unharmed.
