Nausėda says drone incident shows Russia’s war reaching NATO’s eastern flank
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda said a drone that entered Lithuania on Sunday morning showed how Russia’s war against Ukraine was spreading to NATO and the European Union’s eastern flank, LRT reported.
The Lithuanian Armed Forces said the air alert had been lifted. A red alert was issued early Sunday in Panevėžys and Šiauliai counties, and residents received mobile phone notifications telling them to go to shelters.
During a red air alert, residents are advised to seek a designated shelter or another safe place and wait for further instructions.
