Eesti 200, Estonian politics, parliamentary elections

Eesti 200’s governing council is discussing whether the party should run in the next parliamentary election, merge with the Greens or skip the election cycle, ERR reported. The debate comes as the party’s support has remained near 2% for months, according to polling by several firms.

The council’s agenda also includes preparations for the election and a possible merger with the Eestimaa Greens party. The meeting began at 11 a.m. on Sunday at the Õuetorn venue in Tallinn’s Kultuurikatel and was scheduled to end at 3 p.m.

Eesti 200 is part of the governing coalition with the Reform Party. It won 14 seats in the 2023 parliamentary election. After Züleyxa Izmailova was expelled and Kalev Stoicescu left the party, its parliamentary group has 12 members.

The business register listed 548 Eesti 200 members as of Sunday.
