Red air alert issued in Panevėžys and Šiauliai counties

Lithuania’s armed forces have issued a red air alert in Panevėžys and Šiauliai counties because of a possible drone, LRT reported. Warning messages have been sent to residents’ mobile phones.

Residents are urged to go immediately to a shelter or another safe place, look after family members and wait for further instructions. Authorities will issue a separate notice when the alert ends.

A shelter is intended to provide short-term protection during an air alert. People who cannot reach one are advised to use a safe place, such as a basement or an interior room without windows, and to stay away from windows, balconies, lifts and open spaces. Further guidance is available at lt72.lt.
