Explosion destroys part of house in Kaišiadorys district

An explosion destroyed part of a brick house in Kaišiadorys district on Thursday evening, and rescuers found fragments of human remains at the scene, LRT reported.

The explosion was reported at 6:18 p.m. in Rožių Street in the village of Antakalnis. The caller told emergency services that people were in the yard and might be injured. Two people may also have been inside the building.

Three fire engines were sent to the scene. At 7 p.m., no one had been found inside the building. Firefighters reported finding fragments of human remains at 8:25 p.m. and continued working at the scene.
