The party Mēs mainām noteikumus has expelled three members, including Mārtiņš Krusts, after they lost the trust of its board, LSM reported. The decision was made at a board meeting on Wednesday, party board member Jāzeps Baško said.
The other two members expelled were Pēteris Bahurs and Aiga Bahura. None of the three attended the consideration of their cases.
The decision followed public disagreements within the party. Krusts had claimed on social media platform X that the party was organising the expulsion of him and several members linked to the Republika party after he announced he would run in the party board elections. He later published broader criticism of the party leadership.
Baško had previously denied that the party was splitting or carrying out what he called a purge. He described Krusts’s claims as unfounded accusations and said party members had to follow shared rules and discipline. Baško also said the possibility of expelling Krusts would be considered.
Mēs mainām noteikumus failed to win enough support to secure representation in the 15th Saeima, but passed the threshold for state funding. According to calculations by de facto, the party could receive about 205,000 euros next year. After the election, party representatives said they intended to continue their political work and strengthen the party’s presence in Latvian politics.
