Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius called a reported deal between the United States and Russia over Russian diesel supplies a “shameful, disgraceful act,” LRT reported.

Asked by the UK news channel Sky News about the arrangement to supply Russian diesel to the US and the global market, Sinkevičius said he had seen no written agreement, only posts on X and political statements. He said it was unclear whether the deal was already happening or was only a political declaration, adding that he expected to know more in the coming week.

Earlier, Sinkevičius said Lithuania’s trust in the United States remained unchanged and described it as a strategic partner. He welcomed initiatives to secure lasting peace in Ukraine, but said they needed to work in practice.

He made the comments in Warsaw on Monday, after US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin agreed on diesel exports and announced a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine in the energy sector.
