Lithuania is expected to have drier weather toward the end of the week, but overnight frosts will return, forecaster Ineta Daunoravičiūtė of the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service said, LRT reported.

On Tuesday night, clouds are expected to break, with brief, light rain possible in a few places, mainly in the west. Fog will reduce visibility in many areas later in the night and during the morning. Temperatures will range from 1 to 6 degrees Celsius, locally reaching 7 to 9 degrees. Ground frost of up to 3 degrees below zero is possible in places.

Tuesday will begin with mist and fog in many areas, followed by clearer spells and some sunshine. A little rain may fall under thicker clouds. Temperatures will rise to 10 to 15 degrees.

Clouds will increase overnight into Wednesday, bringing rain in some places, particularly in western Lithuania. Temperatures will fall to 3 to 8 degrees, and to around 10 degrees on the coast. Isolated ground frosts are possible. Wednesday is forecast to be cloudy and rainy, with temperatures of 9 to 14 degrees. Southwesterly and westerly wind gusts on the coast may reach 15 to 17 metres per second.

Rain will continue in many places overnight into Thursday, though it is expected to be light and brief. Temperatures will range from 4 to 9 degrees, and from 10 to 12 degrees on the coast. During Thursday, rain will retreat, with only isolated light showers expected. Clear spells will develop in many areas in the afternoon, and temperatures will reach 11 to 16 degrees.

Drier weather is expected from Friday, but overnight temperatures will drop to several degrees below zero, both in the air and at ground level. Daytime temperatures will remain milder, at around 12 to 17 degrees.
