Riga Regional Court has upheld a four-and-a-half-year prison sentence for businessman Igor Trubko over offering a 2.1 million euro bribe to Riga City Council member Mārtiņš Kossovičs, LSM reported Monday.

The Economic Affairs Court found Trubko, chairman of the board of AS Rīgas namu apsaimniekotājs, guilty in 2023. The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau gathered evidence that the bribe was offered to help the company win a concession tender and take over some buildings managed by municipal housing company Rīgas namu pārvaldnieks.

Trubko allegedly told Kossovičs what tender conditions would benefit Rīgas namu apsaimniekotājs. He denies the charges, and his lawyer said the ruling would be appealed.
