Heleza’s debut album, “What Could Have Been?”, was released Friday by record label Kurvad uudised records, ERR reported.
The nine-track album reflects the artist’s life over the past year and a half, including the end of a long relationship, becoming independent, difficult self-reflection, pain and fears, and learning to know herself again. Heleza said the album tells how an ending can, over time, become the starting point for a new beginning.
“I think it is beautiful to put my pain and fears into music so that I can eventually let go of those feelings,” Heleza said. “That is how I managed to cope with it and process it, and it is why I am here today.”
Pluuto, Säm and An-Marlen also appear on the album. Karl Killing produced the tracks, handled the mixing and appears on the title track. Jonas Karlsson mastered the album.
Heleza began her solo career in the late 2010s and released her first single, “Ma ei tea kes ma olen” (“I Don’t Know Who I Am”), in 2020. Before that, she was part of the rap duo Hoax, known for the hits “Ära enam hella” and “Okei”.
