Mark Rutte to visit Estonia next week

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will visit Estonia next week, meeting the country’s leaders, visiting Ämari Air Base and delivering a speech at Tallinn University of Technology, ERR reported.

On Wednesday, Rutte is due to meet incoming President Ülle Madise, who takes office on Monday, Prime Minister Kristen Michal, Defence Minister Martin Herem and Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, NATO’s press service said on Friday. Rutte will also hold a news conference with Michal.

Rutte last visited Estonia in October 2024, shortly after taking office as NATO secretary general. During the two-day trip, he met Estonian leaders, visited the Tapa military base and Tallinn University, and paid a visit to the Memorial to the Victims of Communism in Tallinn.
