Rain and strong winds forecast across Estonia on Friday
Rain will fall across much of Estonia on Friday, with winds strengthening along the coast in the evening, ERR reports.
Cloud cover will increase overnight from the west, as rain spreads east across the country. Southeasterly and southerly winds will blow at 4 to 10 metres per second, with coastal gusts reaching 15 metres per second. Temperatures will range from 8 to 14 degrees.
Friday morning will be cloudy, with rain in many places. Southeasterly and southerly winds will blow at 4 to 9 metres per second. On the islands and western coast, southwesterly and southerly winds will reach 5 to 10 metres per second, with gusts of up to 17 metres per second. Temperatures will be 10 to 14 degrees.
Cloudy spells and rain will continue during the day. Southerly and southwesterly winds will blow at 5 to 12 metres per second, with gusts of up to 18 metres per second on the western coast. In the evening, winds on the coast of Saaremaa and over the Gulf of Riga will turn westerly and northwesterly, strengthening to 8 to 15 metres per second, with gusts of up to 22 metres per second. Temperatures will reach 9 to 14 degrees.
Showers are expected in many places overnight on Saturday. During the day, a new band of heavy rain will move from the islands onto the mainland. Strong winds will ease somewhat by morning, but it will remain windy on the coast. Winds will strengthen again over the Gulf of Riga in the afternoon. Temperatures will be 3 to 8 degrees overnight and 8 to 13 during the day.
Sunday will also bring rain to many areas, but winds will be lighter. Daytime temperatures will reach 15 degrees. At the start of next week, nights will get colder, while daytime temperatures will reach 13 to 14 degrees. Showers are expected at times.
