Birgit Sarrap hosts ETV’s new music quiz show

Estonian public broadcaster ETV will launch its new homegrown music quiz show, “Suur muusikamäng,” on Friday, with singer Birgit Sarrap taking on her first major entertainment presenting role, ERR reports.

The programme will bring together two teams each week for eight rounds of music-focused questions and challenges testing their knowledge, quick thinking and speed. A live band led by Martin Trudnikov will accompany guest performers.

The first episode features classical music performers and musical theatre stars: Lauri Liiv and Hanna-Liina Võsa will compete against Johan Randvere and Maria Listra. The following week, Teele Viira, Henry Kõrvits, Korea and Merlyn Uusküla are due to take part.

Each episode will also feature a mystery guest whom contestants must identify from clues. The first guest is opera and operetta singer Väino Puura. His son, René Puura, is also expected to appear on the show.

“Suur muusikamäng” premieres at 8pm on October 9 and will air every Friday until December.
