KVTC restores communications after cable damage in Vilnius

LRT reported that communications have been fully restored to all institutions affected by cable damage in Vilnius, and the consequences of the incident have been resolved, according to the State Telecommunications Centre (KVTC).

The cables were damaged on Wednesday during road drilling works, disrupting communications at some institutions, including clinics and radio stations. KVTC said it had found no indication that the damage was deliberate.

News portal 15min.lt reported that the damage occurred during works on Laisvės Avenue. It said the incident disrupted operations at the Karoliniškės and Šeškinė clinics, as well as the Radio Data System at the Customs Criminal Service and some radio stations. The fault also interrupted the M1 Dance Klaipėda broadcast. According to the portal, other institutions were not affected.
