Lithuania to turn drier and warmer before rainy weekend

Midweek will bring drier, warmer weather to Lithuania, with temperatures reaching 22 degrees Celsius in some places on Thursday, forecaster Simona Dalinkevičiūtė of the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service told LRT Radio, LRT reported.

On Tuesday, skies will be cloudy with sunny spells, and most of the country should see some sunshine. Light rain or drizzle is possible in places. Gusts in western districts may reach 15 to 18 metres per second. Temperatures will range from 14 to 19 degrees.

Wednesday will be mostly dry after a chance of light drizzle during the first hours of the night. Southwesterly to westerly winds will ease during the day. Overnight temperatures will be 4 to 9 degrees, or 10 to 12 degrees near the coast, with daytime highs of 15 to 19 degrees.

Thursday is expected to be dry, with winds easing overnight and fog possible. Temperatures will be 6 to 11 degrees at night and 17 to 22 degrees during the day.

Rain and stronger winds are forecast for Friday. Southwesterly to westerly winds will reach 15 to 20 metres per second in many places, and may strengthen to 24 to 25 metres per second on the coast. Temperatures will range from 9 to 14 degrees overnight and 11 to 16 degrees during the day.

The weekend is expected to be rainy and windy. Night-time temperatures will be around 7 to 12 degrees, with daytime temperatures a few degrees higher than on Friday.
