Elektrilevi convenes energy leaders to discuss the power grid’s future

Estonia’s largest electricity network operator, Elektrilevi, will host a conference on the power grid’s condition and future on Tuesday, with a live broadcast on the ERR website from 9:15 a.m., ERR reported.
The conference, titled “Pinge 2026: The electricity grid today and tomorrow,” will bring together energy-sector leaders from Estonia and Europe, politicians, commentators, business representatives and partners. Topics include Estonia’s energy policy, the current state and future of European and Nordic power networks, Latvia and Lithuania’s experiences of the “storm of the century,” and customer expectations of electricity networks and sellers.
Speakers include Minister of Economic Affairs and Industry Liina Vahtras; former climate minister and current chair of the Riigikogu Environment Committee Yoko Alender; Andres Verstrepen, representing Dutch network operator Stedin; Alexela board chairman Marti Hääl; Ignitis Estonia head Timo Tatar; and Enefit head Gerrit Mäesalu.
A debate on “Estonia’s energy policy 2031” will begin at 10:30 a.m. Participants include Social Democrat Jevgeni Ossinovski, Reform Party member and adviser to the minister of economic affairs and industry Emma Kruusmäe, Isamaa deputy chairman Aivar Kokk, Lauri Laats of the Centre Party, Toomas Uibo of Estonia 200, Rain Epler of the Conservative People’s Party of Estonia and Andrus Kaarelson of the Right-wing Party.
