Aleksejs Rosļikovs, leader of the Stabilitātei! party, does not plan to return to Latvia after the party failed to enter parliament and lost state funding, LSM reported, citing party board chair Svetlana Čulkova. The party received 1.997% of the vote in the parliamentary election. Rosļikovs has fled to Belarus.

Čulkova said Rosļikovs would continue his political work, expressing his views and advocating for the people and issues he has previously focused on.

Before the election, Rosļikovs had said he would be prepared to return if people in Latvia supported him and were willing to defend him, Čulkova said.

Čulkova said the result showed voters had not chosen the political course proposed by the party, which she described as prioritising stronger advocacy for residents’ interests, improved welfare, lower prices and greater social security. She said the party accepted the result and would continue its work.
