Nigul and Luik to discuss Russia’s air campaign and threats

Sunday 4th October 2026 on 17:15 in Estonia

Estonia, NATO, Ukraine

Colonel Maanus Nigul and Ambassador Jüri Luik will discuss Russia’s air campaign against Ukraine and recent threats against Europe and NATO on ERR’s “Ukraine Studio” on Sunday.

Russian forces are making little progress on the front, while Ukraine has recently regained more territory than it has lost, ERR reports. The Kremlin is seeking to shift the logic of the war towards long-range air attacks in the hope of forcing Ukraine to surrender. Nigul, deputy chief of staff of the Estonian Air Force, will discuss whether air power alone can win a war.

Luik will address why Kremlin spokespeople have threatened to attack European factories producing weapons for Ukraine and warned NATO against blockading Kaliningrad. He will also discuss the renewed nuclear rhetoric and NATO’s response.

The programme, hosted by Epp Ehand, starts on ETV at 8 p.m. Aleksander Krjukov is the editor.
