Klaipėda and Telšiai counties warned of hazardous winds Monday

Residents of Klaipėda and Telšiai counties have been warned to prepare for potentially dangerous winds on Monday, LRT reports, citing the Lithuanian Hydrometeorological Service.

The warning will be in effect from 12:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on October 5. Southwesterly and westerly wind gusts are expected to reach 15 to 17 metres per second in some places. No hazardous conditions are forecast elsewhere in Lithuania.

The warning is not at the highest level. The service recommends securing or bringing indoors items from balconies and yards that could be blown away, dressing appropriately if going outside and avoiding parking cars near trees.
