Latvian parties gather to await 15th Saeima election results

Political groups contesting Latvia’s 15th Saeima elections gathered at venues across the country to await the results as vote counting began, LSM reported. Fourteen political forces are running in the election.

The National Alliance gathered at Benjamins’ House, while Latvia First awaited results at the Fantadroms conference centre. Sovereign Power/United New Latvians met at Bellevue Park Hotel Riga, the Union of Greens and Farmers at Islande Hotel Riga, and the United List at the White House venue.

The election was held across Latvia on October 3. Voter turnout was the lowest ever recorded in parliamentary elections, and opinion polls indicated that six political forces could win seats in the 15th Saeima.
