Artist duos open exhibitions at Tallinn galleries

Friday 2nd October 2026 on 18:15 in Estonia

Two exhibitions by artist duos opened on Thursday at galleries run by the Estonian Artists’ Association, ERR reported. The exhibitions at Draakon and Hobusepea galleries will remain open until early November.

At Draakon Gallery, Eike Eplik and Angela Maasalu explore the question “Where do monsters grow?” through Maasalu’s paintings and Eplik’s small sculptures and installation. Eplik said the exhibition considers the potential for both good and evil in everyone, and how people choose which side to nurture.

At Hobusepea Gallery, Liina Siib and Kaire Rannik present “The forest is a brother, is a sister, is a wound,” a layered creative study of memory, forests and industry. The exhibition focuses on Joaveski, where a paper mill once stood, and draws on the artists’ shared memories of the village and the Loobu River.

Rannik said the artists researched the history of paper production, visiting a mill still operating in Kehra and going to Räpina to understand how the process might have worked in the past. She said the exhibition also examines the decline of an industry that eventually produced stamp albums, which are no longer needed today.
