TV host Reet Linna says viewers especially appreciate her positive attitude, as she prepares a new season of “Prillitoos,” the long-running programme she has hosted for 15 years. She made the comments in an interview with “Terevisioon,” reported by ERR.

Linna has made 529 episodes of the show. She described it as a story of Estonia and a marker of its times, offering a look at what people did and how they thought in different periods.

She said she had wanted from the beginning to make “Prillitoos” a programme for the whole family, rather than one aimed only at older people. Older people can learn from younger generations, she said, and younger people from older generations. Linna added that many young viewers now tell her they enjoy the show.

The team had been working on the new season since almost spring, Linna said. She also recently had eye surgery and said her eyesight had improved. In the season premiere, she gets behind the wheel of a tractor.

Linna said she had asked her team to visit Gotland to find out whether a story about the island’s grindstone was legend or fact. She described the trip as a cultural journey that also offered remarkable natural scenery, and said the story turned out to be true.

“Prillitoos” airs on ETV on Sundays at 9 a.m.
