Artist Eleryn Tiit released her second studio album, “Meil pole aega maa ja ilm” (“We don’t have all the time in the world”), on Friday, ERR reported. The album was made over the past year with producer Sten Šeripov.

Tiit said the songs explore longing for loved ones, falling in love, walking through life alone and coming to terms with things. The album’s first ideas began to take shape a few years ago, she said, after she noticed a melancholy feeling whenever she visited her parents or grandparents at her childhood home.

“I was happy to be among my people, but at the same time I felt an inexplicable sadness I had never experienced before,” Tiit said. She later realised that time was passing not only in her own life but also in the lives of everyone she loved. “The phrase ‘I don’t have time’ has taken on a completely different meaning for me,” she said.

Tiit said she and Šeripov quickly found a good working rhythm, combining their different perspectives. Other contributors to the album include Jüri Pootsmann, Andreas Poom, Liisi Koikson, Taavi Eelmaa, Sten Heinoja, Kristjan Kallas, Sander Berens, James Younger, Brandon Wolfe-Scott of Canada, and Tiit’s father.

Tiit said making her second album was more difficult than making her first, with the creative search taking longer because she had become more demanding. She said she was proud of the result and the bold choices she had made.

Tiit will present the album in Tallinn and Tartu at the end of November.
