Estonia, Kadriorg Stadium, renovation

Renovation work is under way across the Kadriorg Stadium complex, including the historic main building and a new stand opposite the main arena, ERR reported.

The main arena’s grass field is being fitted with new drainage and irrigation systems, and the track surface has been removed. The opposite stand is being built to accommodate about 5,000 spectators. Work on the main arena is due to finish in the fourth quarter of 2027.

Renovation has also begun on Building A, the stadium’s historic main building, and a connecting tunnel is being built between Buildings A and B. Construction of Building B, a new facility with service and changing rooms, conference rooms, and strength and warm-up halls, is nearing completion. It is due to be finished in December.

A football training arena with a stand is also being built and is due to be completed in the second quarter of 2027. The entire complex is scheduled for completion in January 2028.

ERR reported in April that the project would cost 17.1 million euros excluding VAT. Nordlin Ehitus OÜ won the public tender to carry out the work. The athletics training arena was renovated by 2021, and the stadium arenas’ lighting and electricity supply were upgraded by spring 2023.
