Court upholds closure of Miliūtė’s middle-finger case

A Vilnius court on Wednesday upheld the police decision to close journalist Rita Miliūtė’s administrative offence case over showing a middle finger, LRT reported.

The Vilnius City District Court left unchanged an August 7 ruling by the Vilnius County Chief Police Headquarters. The decision can be appealed to the Vilnius Regional Court within 20 days.

BNS reported that the case was closed after Miliūtė objected to a 15-euro fine. She had been fined for showing her middle finger towards parliament during a protest and was found to have violated public order.
