Spartan aircraft to train with NATO fighters in Šiauliai region

A C-27J Spartan transport aircraft will conduct training flights alongside NATO fighter jets in the Šiauliai region on Wednesday, LRT reported.

The aircraft will train with Italian Eurofighter Typhoons, Spanish F-18s and Turkish F-16s, which are carrying out NATO’s air defence mission in the Baltic states, the Air Force Aviation Base said.

Special thermal signal flares will be used during the flights. The base said the flights are planned, follow an approved flight plan and meet all safety requirements. The exercises are intended for periodic functionality tests.
