Cabinet backs €4.35 million shift to finish Great Guild, Arsenals works

Latvia’s Cabinet has backed a proposal to reallocate €4.35 million in European Regional Development Fund funding to complete reconstruction projects at the Great Guild cultural venue and the Arsenals exhibition hall, LSM reported.

The funding is intended to help both venues open to the public. It will cover equipment, furniture and musical instruments, as well as the development of cultural services after construction is complete. Planned activities include exhibitions, educational sessions, tours, lectures, workshops and other public events.

The money will be transferred between European Union funding programmes administered by the Ministry of Culture. The ministry said all 16 approved projects in the programme providing the funds will retain their full funding and planned scope.

The reallocation must also be approved by the European Commission.
