Police investigate Quran burning on Vilnius street
Lithuania LRT reports that a Quran was burned on Etmonų Street in Vilnius last weekend. Police have opened a pre-trial investigation into hooliganism.
A video circulating online appears to show the Quran being burned in the street.
Police told LRT that at 1:57 a.m. on September 13, they received a report about a Quran being burned outside 6 Etmonų Street. The report was made by an English-speaking person, a Police Department representative said.
The Quran is the principal religious book of Islam and the holiest scripture for Muslims.
