Police recover 130,000-euro BMW after Trakai district theft

Police recovered a BMW X7 worth 130,000 euros in Vilnius on the same day it was stolen in Trakai district, LRT reported, citing the Police Department.

At about 1:25 p.m. on Friday, people blocked a road in Dėdeliškės village and took the car from a man born in 1976. Another man, born in 2005, was also travelling in the vehicle.

At about 3:40 p.m., officers found the stolen BMW in an underground garage on M. Valančiaus Street in Vilnius and detained two men, born in 1995 and 1994.

Near the scene, officers also detained a man born in 1989 who was driving a BMW M340i. During an inspection, they found part of a plastic bag containing a loose, crystal-like substance suspected to be a narcotic.

All three suspects were placed in detention. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the theft of high-value property and the possession of narcotic or psychotropic substances without intent to distribute.
