Linas Kaziulionis explores golf and power in Tartu exhibition

ERR reports that Lithuanian painter and street artist Linas Kaziulionis has opened a solo exhibition titled “The Deal Game” at Jakobi Gallery in Tartu.

The exhibition examines golf as a sport and as a symbol of power, suggesting that global agreements are shaped and decisions influencing world politics are made under the cover of relaxed leisure.

Kaziulionis has spent several years researching the logic of disinformation and conspiracy theories, including how they take shape, why they spread and why people believe them. While his earlier works focused on an imaginary chemical compound allegedly capable of altering people’s thinking through food and making them easier to control, “The Deal Game” turns to gaming rituals and the places and ways in which people make important decisions while relaxing.

Kaziulionis holds a master’s degree from the Vilnius Academy of Arts. In 2022, he received the Baltic Young Painter’s Prize. He has held solo exhibitions in Lithuania, the United States, France and Belgium, and has taken part in group exhibitions in Japan, Iceland, Estonia and elsewhere.

The exhibition is open until October 9.
